Babavida Fortress (Bulgaria)
The Baba Vida fortress is made up of elements from various eras: the octagonal tower dates back to Roman times, the central tower and the annexes to the Middle Ages, the rooms around the courtyard Ottoman occupation, while three of the towers are of Austrian origin. After the barbican and the entrance bastion, they cross some concentric walls and you will come out in the yard. Here, on the side of the Danube, you can see a summer theater. Before you leave, you may want to climb the fortress: the view of the river and the Balkan south is magnificent.
