Listed as a historic monument since 1957, the 13th and 16th century Château de Cénevières is one of the most splendid Renaissance monuments in Quercy. It is the only monument in the southwest to have a so-called alchemy room. Both a fortified castle and a Renaissance palace with its gallery, its frescoes and the visit of its gardens overlooking the Lot river for 60 m, is an essential tourist attraction. It is also 6 km from the medieval village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, 13 km from the prehistoric caves of Pech Merle in Cabrerets and 22 km from the Cloup d'Aural phosphate mines in Bach.
