The Löwenburg ("Castle of Lions") is a medieval castle built by William IX. The fort was designed by Christoph Heinrich Jussow 1793-1800, it is the imitation of a medieval castle, purposely built as a ruin. Initially planned as a tower with guest house, it was built then as a complete fortress, grouped around a courtyard. Today can be visited with guided excursions, even inside. The castle houses an arsenal of weapons and armor of the 16th and 17th Century
