The Mespelbrunn Castle is one of the most interesting Renaissance residences of Germany and the water that surrounds it gives him an aura fairytale. Situated on the edge of the homonymous country and a few kilometers from Aschaffenburg, is the residence of Ingelheim accounts.
The current appearance of the castle dates back to the mid 1500s when Peter Echter von Mespelbrunn and his wife Gertraud von Adelsheim they began deep renovation and expansion that ended in 1569. The couple's second son is Julius Echter, powerful prince-bishop Würzburg and founder of the local University.
