Moritzburg Castle (Germany)
Saxony See list of castles in Germania
The Moritzburg castle is idyllically situated in the heart of Saxony, a few kilometers from Dresden and not far from china town Meissen.
Surrounded entirely by a body of water that offers a surreal image, the castle was once a luxurious hunting lodge and was built by Duke Moritz in 1542, only to be used as a residence and for lavish parties. Visitors can admire the typical Baroque building with four imposing towers that are reflected in the lake. The interior is a triumph of collections and hunting trophies.
