Avio Castle (Italy)

On top of a rocky outcrop stands the Castle of Avio, which dominates the village of Sabbionara and overlooks the Vallagarina crossed by the river Adige.
You enter the castle through a door-tower crowned with battlements dovetail. On the right emerges soon the bulk of a tower that stands between the eastern walls: it is the "Picadora" so chamata because, according to tradition, on the terrace were hanged the condemned.

In the large perimeter of the walls and a highly steep area they stand down the House of Guards, at the center the imposing Baronial Palace in gray stone on top of Baldo and the Keep.
