From the top of the hill dominates Valeggio and the valley of the Mincio, maintaining unchanged the impressive imposing of medieval fortifications.
Its oldest part was almost completely torn to the ground by an earthquake in 1117; The Tonda Tower remains a unique iron-iron construction of the 10th century.
In 1285, the Scaliger, now unquestioned Lords of Verona, paved the way for the reconstruction and the upgrading of the Valorian fortifications, located in a strategic position for the defense of their domains.
The part that was currently to be visited was called Rocca and it fell through two overhead bridges. A third drawbridge, the only one remaining until today, was built on the larger part of the complex, known as the Castle, of which only the ruins of the perimeter of walls remain, while on the inside there is a private villa, built in the early 1900s .
During the summer, shows and screenings are held in the inner courtyard.
