Penedono Castle (Portugal)
Penedono is a quiet little town in west-central Portugal. Perhaps the most interesting places that you can see there is the small but very authentic look of a medieval castle, Penedono Castle.

In the early years of the 20th century Penedono Castle has been classified as a national monument by decree, published on June 23, 1910. In 1940 it was decided to start the full restoration of Penedono - the structure has been strengthened and the facades and towers are been restored.
Repair second phase was carried out in 1943 and 1953, resulting in the complex that is still well preserved, although there is still much to be desired in terms of interior.
