Popov Castle is a unique historical and architectural monument of the second half of the nineteenth century. It is located in the city of Zaporozhye Vasilevka region and is one of the largest palace complex and park in the south of the Russian Empire. The castle was named after the owner of the castle - Major General Vasily Stepanovich Popov. The history of the castle and the town itself is closely related to Popov, as V.S. Popov founded the settlement at the end of the eighteenth century.
The castle was built in neo-Gothic style with elements of romance and baroque and consists of 4 floors and five towers. Construction of the complex lasted for about 5 years. Nowadays it is the only complex of the manor castle in the Zaporozhye region, which has come down to our days. On the basis of the museum-reserve complex estate "Manor Popov" is open.
