Dumbarton Castle is a medieval castle located in the town of Dumbarton, Scotland. It sits on a rocky promontory at the confluence of the rivers Clyde and Leven. The castle was built starting from the 13th century and underwent several expansions and renovations over the centuries. Among its illustrious guests were the kings of Scotland and the famous explorer and missionary David Livingstone. Today, the castle is open to the public and offers a panoramic view of the town and the Clyde estuary.
