Criccieth Castle is an imposing castle perched atop a hill overlooking the sea, in the town of Criccieth, in Gwynedd, Wales. It was built in the late 13th century by Welsh prince Llywelyn the Great, but saw several sieges and occupations throughout the centuries. Today, the castle is a popular tourist site and a protected monument.
