Forte Diamante (Italy)

It is one of the most characteristic forts inside the defense city walls of Genoa. It was built in 1758 right on the summit of Mount Diamond, about 667 meters high.

The dominant position on the Val Polcevera and Val Bisagno and the distance from the city center, made the fort the first defensive bulwark of the city against raids from the North.
