The ruins of Castel Boymont are located on a rock from which you can admire an enchanting panorama.
Between 1220 and 1240 there was a flowering period for the construction of Tyrolean castles and Castel Boymont was also built during this period. The client was probably a relative of the Count of Appiano. Especially in the 14th century the Boymont family played an important role. After them, the castle was in the hands of the Austrian Ulrich Kässler, who married his wealthy daughter Barbara de Boymont in 1413. In 1425 Castel Boymont was the victim of a fire crime and has never been rebuilt.
Castel Boymont was not a military building, on the contrary it was a remarkable residential castle.
After having changed owners many times, since 1977 it has been owned by Fritz Dellago who had it restored and consolidated.
