Culzean Castle is the perfect place for a day out if you are a keen walker, enjoy admiring the gardens, they have an interest in architecture or simply enjoy enjoy a bit of history.
Standing on top of a cliff overlooking the dramatic Firth of Clyde, the castle has been associated with the Kennedy family since the 14 th century and was converted by Robert Adam between 1777 and 1792.
Take a guided tour and learn about the best features of the castle, including the masterpiece of Adam, the oval staircase, as well as a fine collection of paintings and furniture.
Culzean also has a strong relationship with President Eisenhower, as the apartment on the top floor was presented to him for his life in recognition of his role during the Second World War. Now, you can stay in the charming Eisenhower Apartment as a paying guest.
The property is located approximately 600 acres of beautiful countryside and miles of marked trails lead visitors through the majestic forest and solitary ponds. Responsible for the Deer Park, the cliff walk or explore the beaches. And look for hidden treasures of the park, such as ice houses, the Camellia House, the pagoda or the caves.
Culzean Castle and Country Park are owned and managed by the National Trust for Scotland and admission is free for members.
