The Kronborg Castle in Denmark: Kronborg Slot, is a fortress located in Helsingor, Denmark. It is located on the extreme tip of Zealand, in the minimum distance between Denmark and Sweden. Here the narrow, only 4 km wide, it adds strategic importance to the construction.
Kronborg Castle has for centuries been one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe, and has been added to the UNESCO on 30 November 2000. The castle is also famous because William Shakespeare set his play Hamlet: every summer takes place in the inner courtyard a Shakespearean festival.
